As some know I'm going to compete in Nov '12 in a bodybuilding show. But I moved for 7 months in Oct and am finally back at the gym. When I left I weighted around 230lbs and now have dropped to 213lbs.
The past 3 days have been good, I did a solid split of chest, back and yesterday legs. I did all heavy my heavy compounds and was satisfied with how much I lifted. I realize I won't be lifting what I was when I left, but in a month or so, I should be back and hopefully lifting the same (maybe at 220lbs?).
I'm looking for anyone who can give me advice on show prep diet and posing. I'm certified but have never really trained anyone or myself for a BB show. Please email me or comment with any advice or a contact I can reach you at if you have time available to help me out.
My chest day I didn't go above 75lbs dumbbells (I think I could've upped 90's, but I'm taking it easy. This isn't that big of a drop, although when I left in Oct I was benching 350ish 1RM and doing 275lbs for a solid set of 9-11 (dumbbell about 120+). I could even do my bodyweight for 20+ reps. Video is on youtube here.
My back day I did my DL and only went as high as 315lbs for 8. It felt good but my DL has always been my weak lift. Hopefully be up to 450lbs for 8 in a month or two.
My leg day was the biggest upset. I only squat 315lbs for 5 comfortably. My squat has always been my pride (before I left I maxed at 500lbs). In 4-5 months I want to surpass that and get as high as 550-600lbs, before I start to cut for the show.
Article and progress vids coming soon.
