Oats: They're just great.

Oats have many benefits for bodybuilders, and everyone for that manner. A nice slow digesting carb, with decent protein, low fat and cholesterol. On top of that, it tastes amazing and can be prepared in 3 minutes. 3!

Oats digest very slowly, this will keep you full, for longer. Along with this, our blood sugar levels won't act as sporadically. They'll rise and lower at a slower rate. This regulation will help in feeling better as well as helping prevent our bodies diabetes like symptoms.

Fiber is a fairly deficient piece of our nutrition puzzle (for the average male). Oats are a great way to ensure that we get the proper amount, thus helping transport of other nutrients as well. This will also help bowel movements. Everyone likes a good bowel movement.

 Try ingesting oats about an hour before a workout to fuel up for a big workout and to fuel yourself for the full workout with healthy carbs.

Try this easy and quick recipe in the morning to get yourself on the right track.
1 cup of quick rolled oats
1 cup skim milk (might need more depending on preference)
3/4 scoop of your favorite chocolate protein powder

Put in your oats, then you milk so it's almost like a cereal to milk ratio. Then add the scoop of protein and mix for a minute. You will LOVE IT. The best part, it takes less than 3 minutes to make. High carbs and high protein. As well lots of vitamins and fiber. All while keeping the cholesterol and fat relatively low.
